The Ivy Lee Method

The 100-year old productivity strategy to help you get through the day.

It all started in 1918

The Ivy Lee Method dates back to 1918, when Ivy Lee, a productivity consultant, was hired by Charles M. Schwab, the president of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation to improve his company's efficiency. Lee offered his method to Schwab for free, and after three months, Schwab was so happy with the results he wrote Lee a check for $25,000 — the equivalent of about $400,000 today.

Why does it work?

James Clear, the author of " Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones," says it works because it forces you to make tough decisions. It also removes the friction of starting on your tasks.
